"We were so glad to find WESTMAN as we were seeking for an upscale breakfast place where we could enjoy views and have a conversation. You are greeted in a lobby and once you check-in, you're led to the dining hall upstairs. Super woody and high ceilings with an entire wall of sunlight coming in. Immediately we were enamored by the atmosphere. Food was amazing. You must get the souffle pancakes. These are made with beaten egg whites, slowly cooked. They take a while to prepare but are absolutely worth it. Also the French toast is made with their house-made brioche - thick, crispy and soft. Just perfect. The food comes out on a bit blander side but they do provide amazing compote (a matcha drizzle!) and syrup. The only blemish is I think they can use better coffee beans. Service was fabulous and overall we fell in love with WESTMAN. Yes, it is a bit pricey but it is totally worth it. We'll be back whenever we're in town."
"The atmosphere and ambiance was fantastic! We had made reservations for early morning at 8am. The staff was very friendly from when we got checked in to be seated and served. It does begin to fill up around 9:30 am so make sure to make reservations or arrive early to avoid waiting. We stopped by because we saw their popular soufflé pancakes were a fan favorite. The mango sauce was great! Pancakes were soft and fluffy; however, the taste just wasn't quite there. They tasted a bit bland. I was slightly disappointed, but I recommend you try them out. My girlfriend really liked them, especially when paired with the mango sauce."
"My recent visit to Westman in Honolulu was a delightful experience, meriting a solid four-star rating. The restaurant boasts a charming and inviting ambiance, ideal for both romantic evenings and casual dining. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding a personal touch to our visit. The menu offers various dishes, showcasing local Hawaiian flavors and international cuisine. I was particularly impressed by their seafood selection, which was fresh and expertly prepared. The fusion of flavors in dishes like the poke bowl and the grilled mahi-mahi was remarkable. However, there's room for improvement in terms of wait times. We experienced a longer-than-expected delay before our meals arrived, which, while understandable given the restaurant's popularity, did impact our overall experience. The dessert selection was a highlight, with the coconut haupia being a standout. It was the perfect end to our meal, offering a taste of traditional Hawaiian sweets. In summary, Westman in Honolulu provides a delightful dining experience with its excellent food and charming atmosphere. A little fine-tuning in service efficiency could elevate it to a perfect score. I recommend it to friends and family looking to enjoy a good meal in Honolulu."
"We came here for brunch within a few days of opening despite our reservations, since at the time there were only a couple of Yelp reviews, and the Google page wasn't even up yet. It turned out to be the best brunch we had during our week-long stay on the island (better than another very famous place), and we loved it so much it was the only place we dined at twice. Ambience was lovely, service was great, and most importantly, the food was fantastic. We had the wagyu loco moco (twice), souffle pancakes, and croque monsieur, along with the hojicha tea, yuzu lemonade, and lady lychee mocktail. The croque monsieur was the best I've ever had (the fresh brioche was lovely, and we are bread snobs), and the souffle pancakes and wagyu loco moco were just as good as the great souffle pancakes and hamburger steaks I've had in Japan. I usually just order water since I'm picky about beverages, but the drinks rounded out the experience. As other reviews have indicated, this is not a "cheap eats" sort of place, but I found the prices quite reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the prime location in Waikiki with no doubt very expensive rent. I sincerely hope this business succeeds, as I hope to revisit it during our next trip to Honolulu."
"Great place for breakfast. Avocado toast and soufflé pancakes were great. Coffee was ok, service very friendly but not very efficient. Place was not busy, took 30min to get soufflé pancakes. Pleasant balconies to sit out, very tall ceilings with big fans inside for an almost old school Hawaii feel. (Or at least what I imagine old school Hawaii could have been like) 4 stars bcs of the very bold (even for Waikiki) prices: 2xcoffee 2xsmoothie +avocado toast +soufflé pancakes + tip = 100 US$"
"I am usually hesitant with ordering omelettes because I have a specific way I like eggs to be cooked, but this was the best surprise ever. Egg was fluffy and flavorful, and the spinach, mushroom, bacon was enjoyable to the very end. My wife got the wagyu loco moco and I can attest that the gravy and beef are amazing. Love the burst of flavor versus the overpowering taste of salt most places have for their gravy in a loco moco. Mimosas are so so so good, especially the guava, because they use quality champagne that will not give you a headache like others. Be sure to visit soon, looks like they are moving to Ward Village in the near future and won’t be available to Waikiki."
"This upscale trendy restaurant was worth the wait. I waited about 30min on a Saturday morning. They had live music. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor and has a balcony. The souffle pancakes took about 45min (I was told by my sever prior to ordering). These pancakes were fluffy and Heavenly eat bite. I got a side of eggs which were scrambled to perfection. The guava mimosas were yummy too. They also offer the locals discount. Music was the perfect volume for conversation too."
"It’s not often you enjoy a perfect meal. This was perfect. Excellent, authentic, real food prepared with thought and skill. Superb service and live music for this Sunday brunch. My favorite restaurant in Honolulu after three months of dining all over the island."
